Technology impacts the environment very negatively and this is because of e-waste. Once our devices get old and slow, we would have to throw them out and get new ones. This is usually because one or two parts would be worn out in a computer and they can't be replaced because the designers of the device don't allow you to put in the newest parts on your computer. These computers that you throw out would eventually end up in a landfill. All of these computers are made up of a lot of chemicals which eventually descend from the top of the landfill to the soil it's on, and then to the underground water supply. This poses a big issue to the areas that are near the landfills because it would mean that their water would be contaminated. The factories that create manufacture this technology in the first place are producing toxic gases which eventually end up in our atmosphere. Some of these toxic gases like carbon dioxide also help with global warming, a huge issue that governments around the world are worried about. A solution for this problem is to look for organizations that do their best to recycle technology and send your computers, laptops, phones, etc. to them.
